Susan L. Samson, M.D., Ph.D., FRCPC, FACE, is Chair of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She completed her Medical School and Internal Medicine training in Canada and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She completed her Endocrinology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and joined as faculty where she rose to tenured Associate Professor. She joined Mayo Clinic in Florida in 2020 as a Senior Associate Consultant in the Departments of Medicine and Neurologic Surgery. Dr. Samson's clinical interests include functional pituitary tumors, including those causing Cushing's disease and acromegaly, and management of pituitary hormone deficiencies. Dr. Samson has been a site principal investigator as well as international steering chair for multinational clinical trials in pituitary disorders and has been an internationally invited speaker and a participant in consensus conferences for acromegaly, Cushing's and growth hormone deficiency. She is the co-editor of the book Pituitary Disorders Throughout the Lifecycle: A Case Based Approach (Springer-Nature). As an educator, she has dedicated many years to the training future endocrinologists and has trained over 60 Endocrinology fellows as associate program director and program director. Dr. Samson's contributions have been recognized with the Fulbright and Jaworski L.L.P. Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching and Evaluation, the Rising Star Award, and Woman of Excellence Award at Baylor College of Medicine.
