David Emanuel Paz, M.D., is a Board Certified Family Medicine and Bariatric Medicine practitioner with interest in metabolic conditions. His Clinical focus includes:
- Expertise in management of chronic diseases, such as Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Metabolic Syndrome, Pre-diabetes, Fatty Liver disease, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Hyperparathyroidism.
- Complex coordination of care, transitional care management and diagnosis of unresolved illness.
- Providing multiple musculoskeletal procedures such as injections/infiltrations for knee pain, shoulder pain, trigger finger, DeQuervain's tenosynovitis, Carpal Tunnel syndrome, among others.
- He has a special interest and certifications in Men's Health Issues (Andrology) and Pharmacogenomics (the study of how genes affect a person's response to medication). Particularly important for patients who have struggle with multiple medication failures or hypersensitivity.
- Facilitating understanding of a patient's condition always in patient friendly terms so that patients can make appropriate decisions about the management of their conditions and become de facto partners in management.
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Paz is active in medical education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows. When not doing the job he loves at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Paz participates in humanitarian medical missions across the globe and serves the U.S. military as a battleground physician with the 4th Marines Medical Battalion.
