Dr. Cherie is certified by the American Board of Optometry and the National Board of Optometry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Nau is a member of Scleral Lenses in Current Ophthalmic Practice Evaluation (SCOPE) Dr. Nau has been involved in eye research for over 25 years. At the beginning of her career, she studied glaucoma (aqueous humor dynamics) and corneal structure. Dr. Nau’s current research focuses on the use of scleral contact lenses for treatment of corneal irregularities and ocular surface diseases. An important aspect of her current research is investigating the impact of disease and treatment modalities for patients that utilize scleral lenses. Additionally, Dr. Nau has a special interest in dry eye diseases with special emphasis on ocular graft vs. host disease (GVHD).
