Mary Jurisson, M.D. is a specialist in the Hand Center division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She is board certified in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, and PM&R with a special interest in rehabilitation in osteoarthritis and other rheumatic conditions, including the interaction of biological, physical, neurologic, motor pattern, behavioral and lifestyle factors. She has a number of certifications in various styles of Tai Chi, Qigong, and Feldenkrais Method mind body movement practices.

She has presented nationally and internationally on:

  • Rheumatologic and Osteoarthritis Rehabilitation
  • Tai Chi, Qigong Feldenkrais Method, and Mind Body practices for rheumatic conditions, hand transplant, promoting vitality in aging, general rehabilitation, and for burnout in clinicians.

Dr. Jurisson has many honors and awards including "The Best Doctors in America" Awards, and "Excellence in Teaching" Recognitions.

She has always enjoyed dancing of all kinds (ballet, tap, jazz, character, folk and ethnic, modern) had a folk dance scholarship at Stanford University, performed and taught Scandinavian Dances at a pediatric pathology conference for the attendees, and taught modified dance classes to individuals of all ages and abilities.
