Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. bluish lips or skin
  5. blurred vision
  6. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  7. chest pain
  8. chills
  9. coma
  10. confusion
  11. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  12. cough
  13. decreased urine output
  14. depression
  15. difficulty with breathing
  16. difficulty with moving
  17. dizziness or lightheadedness
  18. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  19. drowsiness
  20. dry mouth
  21. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  22. feeling of fullness in the ears
  23. fever
  24. headache
  25. irritability
  26. lethargy
  27. loss of balance
  28. loss or change in hearing
  29. muscle pain or stiffness
  30. muscle twitching
  31. nausea
  32. not breathing
  33. pain in lower back or side
  34. pain in the joints
  35. painful or difficult urination
  36. pale skin
  37. rapid weight gain
  38. seizures
  39. sensation of spinning
  40. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  41. shortness of breath
  42. sore throat
  43. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  44. stupor
  45. sweating
  46. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  47. swollen glands
  48. thirst
  49. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  50. trouble with hearing
  51. troubled breathing with exertion
  52. uncontrolled eye movements
  53. unusual bleeding or bruising
  54. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Diarrhea
  2. increased amount of gas
  3. light-colored, frothy, or fatty-appearing stools
  4. skin rash
  5. sudden loss of weight
  6. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
