If you're new to exercise, start slow and easy. For example, if you choose to add regular walks to your routine, start by walking only as far or as fast as you find comfortable. If you can walk for only a few minutes, let that be your starting point. Gradually work your way up to 30 to 60 minutes most days of the week.

Always listen to your body. If you experience joint pain, seek self-care that relieves your symptoms, such as a soothing soak in a hot tub. And if exercise makes your psoriatic arthritis symptoms worse, talk with your doctor or physical therapist before continuing any new activity.
