Nuts and seeds are good sources of protein. Many nuts and seeds also contain polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, which can help lower your risk of heart disease. Eat them in moderation, however, because they tend to be high in calories.
Keep almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts or sunflower seeds on hand for a small snack. Choose natural peanut butter, rather than the kind with hydrogenated fat and sugar added. Try tahini (blended sesame seeds) as a dip or spread.
