Outpatient rehabilitation program
Staff in the outpatient rehabilitation program offers coordinated outpatient care to help people with spinal cord injuries transition back to their homes and communities.
Many people in the outpatient program have been dismissed from Mayo's inpatient rehabilitation unit, but they may continue to have ongoing rehabilitation needs. Other people may be admitted into the program directly from the hospital or after an evaluation in the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic.
Your rehabilitation team develops your treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Your team meets weekly to review your progress and goals. When you have met your goals, you'll be dismissed from the outpatient program. You'll receive follow-up care in the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic.
Spinal Cord Injury Clinic
Staff in the Spinal Cord Injury Clinic provides lifelong care for people with spinal cord injuries or disorders. Doctors and clinical nurse specialists evaluate people referred to the clinic, coordinate treatment, and provide follow-up care for people dismissed from the inpatient rehabilitation unit or outpatient rehabilitation program.
