Biographical summary
Dr. McCarthy joined the faculty at Mayo Clinic in January 2018. Prior to this, she was a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and an attending psychologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children's Hospital. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and her doctorate from Emory University. She completed her clinical internship in pediatric psychology at Rush University and her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psycho-oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. McCarthy's research focuses on developing innovative models to support medical decision making in pediatrics. She is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters. Dr. McCarthy's clinical work focuses on children and adolescents with medical conditions.
