لا تُعتبر العطل مبرراً للتخلي عن العادات الصحية السليمة. يُمكن التلذذ بالطعام بدرجة مُعينة لكن الإفراط في الأكل قد يجعلك تشعر بالاكتئاب والذنب. خطط مُسبقاً كي تتجنب إغراء الطعام. تناول وجبة غذائية خفيفة قبل حفلات العُطل كي لا تُفرط في تناول الحلوى والجبنة والمشروبات، واستمر في الحصول على الكثير من النوم والنشاط الجسدي.
