ومن المؤكد أن تعرف بضرر الدهون المشبعة والمتحولة عليك. وتَعرف أيضاً أنه من الصعب تغيير عادات أكل الطعام. وقد تفيدك معرفة أنه لا حاجة لتغيير النظام الغذائي الذي تتبعه في ليلةٍ وضحاها. فأبدأ بتقليل كمية الدهون الصلبة التي تضيفها إِلى الطعام عند الطبخ والتقديم، ومنها الزبدة الطبيعية والزبدة الصناعية والسمن الصناعي. ضع الصلصة أو الزبادي مُخفض الدهون بدلاً من الزبدة على البطاطا المشوية. استعمل مُربى الفواكه مُخفض السكر على الخبز المُحمص بدلاً من الزبدة الصناعية.
