Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding of the gums
  3. blindness
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. blue-yellow color
  6. blurred, decreased, or other changes in vision
  7. bruising
  8. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  9. burning feeling in the chest or stomach
  10. chest pain or tightness
  11. chills
  12. cough
  13. difficulty breathing or swallowing
  14. discharge, excessive tearing
  15. dizziness
  16. eye pain
  17. fast heartbeat
  18. heartburn
  19. hives, itching, skin rash
  20. indigestion
  21. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  22. loss of appetite
  23. nosebleed
  24. painful or difficult urination
  25. pain or burning in the throat
  26. pale skin
  27. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  28. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  29. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or tongue or inside the mouth
  30. stomach cramps, tenderness, or upset
  31. swollen glands
  32. uncontrolled eye movements
  33. unusual bleeding or bruising
  34. unusual tiredness or weakness
  35. vomiting
  36. watery or bloody diarrhea
  37. weight loss

Rare

  1. Yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Belching
  2. bloating
  3. body aches or pain
  4. constipation
  5. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in ears
  6. diarrhea
  7. discouragement
  8. dizziness
  9. dryness of the throat
  10. excess air or gas in the stomach or bowels
  11. feeling sad or empty
  12. full feeling
  13. headache
  14. hearing loss
  15. hoarseness
  16. increased body movements
  17. increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight
  18. increased sweating
  19. indigestion
  20. irritability
  21. itching of the vagina or genital area
  22. loss of interest or pleasure
  23. nausea
  24. pain during sexual intercourse
  25. passing gas
  26. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  27. runny or stuffy nose
  28. severe sunburn
  29. sneezing
  30. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  31. thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
  32. thinning or loss of hair
  33. trouble concentrating
  34. trouble sleeping
  35. voice changes

Rare

  1. Absent, missed, or irregular menstrual periods
  2. difficulty in moving
  3. joint pain
  4. muscle pain or stiffness
  5. stopping of menstrual bleeding
