Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. chills
  3. cough
  4. difficulty with breathing
  5. ear congestion
  6. fever
  7. headache
  8. hoarseness
  9. loss of voice
  10. lower back or side pain
  11. painful or difficult urination
  12. runny or stuffy nose
  13. sneezing
  14. sore throat
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Chest tightness
  2. difficulty with swallowing
  3. dizziness
  4. fast heartbeat
  5. hives, itching, or rash
  6. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue

Rare

  1. Back pain, sudden and severe
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. blindness
  4. bloody, black, or tarry stools
  5. blue-yellow color blindness
  6. blurred vision
  7. chest pain
  8. decreased urine output
  9. decreased vision
  10. difficulty controlling your bladder or bowels
  11. difficulty with walking
  12. dilated neck veins
  13. extreme tiredness or weakness
  14. eye pain
  15. feeling sad or depressed
  16. general feeling of illness
  17. high fever
  18. inability to move the arms and legs
  19. irregular breathing or heartbeat
  20. muscle aches or cramps
  21. muscle weakness, sudden and progressing
  22. numbness or tingling in your arms, fingers, legs, feet, or face
  23. pale skin
  24. seizures
  25. slurred speech
  26. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  27. sudden numbness and weakness in the arms and legs
  28. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  29. swollen or painful glands
  30. unusual bleeding or bruising
  31. weight gain or loss
  32. yellow skin and eyes

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. bone pain
  3. change in size, shape, or color of existing mole
  4. dark urine
  5. diarrhea
  6. general tiredness and weakness
  7. joint or muscle pain
  8. light-colored stools
  9. mole that leaks fluid or bleeds
  10. nausea
  11. new mole
  12. red, irritated eyes
  13. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  14. sore throat
  15. trouble breathing
  16. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  17. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
