Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Pain, burning, blistering, changes in color, dryness, itching, peeling, redness, scaling, stinging, or swelling of the skin where the medicine is applied

Incidence not known

  1. Chest tightness
  2. cough
  3. difficulty swallowing
  4. dizziness
  5. fainting
  6. fast heartbeat
  7. hives, itching, or skin rash
  8. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  9. large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  10. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  11. severe sunburn
  12. swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  13. tightness in the throat
  14. trouble breathing
  15. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Dryness or peeling of the skin (may occur after a few days)
  2. feeling of warmth, mild stinging, and redness of the skin
