Veronique L. Roger, M.D., MPH, studies cardiovascular disease and prevention, with a focus on sex and age-related conditions.

With a clinical base in the Community Cardiology Clinic and the hospital practice, Dr. Roger and her research team utilize novel recruitment methods, including online methods, to better understand the outcomes of the most frequent cardiovascular conditions. A major area of focus is the outcomes of acute coronary syndrome (heart attack) and heart failure as well as preventive cardiology.

Dr. Roger leads in several research initiatives focused on community care delivery and outcomes, the role of social determinants of health in the outcomes of heart disease and the use of electronic medical records for research.

Through partnerships with national organizations, Dr. Roger participates in delineating research strategies for heart disease research.

Focus Area:

  • Investigating the outcomes of heart disease in communities — To improve outcomes of heart disease, we need to understand which factors play a role in these outcomes outside the health system and how communities resources can help patients who experience heart disease live better lives.
  • Dr. Roger's research will improve the understanding of cardiovascular diseases among community populations.
  • Outcomes research
  • Epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases
  • Healthcare delivery research
