Kambiz Kalantari, M.D., MS, is a board certified nephrologist. Dr. Kalantari received a doctor of medicine degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He completed internal medicine residency at Prince George's Hospital in Maryland and Nephrology fellowship training at University of Virginia (UVA). Later on, he received a master of science degree in Clinical Research from the Department of Public Health Sciences at UVA. He worked as a clinician scientist and an educator at the UVA from 2002 to 2021, when he moved to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. While at UVA, he received several prestigious awards for Excellence in Teaching, including a national mid-career award in Teaching Excellence from the American Society of Nephrology in 2019. Dr. Kalantari's areas of clinical interest include acid-base and fluid and electrolyte disorders, glomerular diseases and hypertension.
