M. Tariq Bhatti, M.D., is a neuro-ophthalmologist. His clinical focus includes:

  • Providing care for patients with visual disorders related to neurological causes
  • Complex coordination of care and diagnosis with other specialties such as rheumatology, neurosurgery and otolaryngology
  • Identifying challenging eye movement, optic nerve or retinal abnormalities
  • Evaluating and treating double vision
  • Utilizing the most modern and sophisticated testing available
  • Giant cell arteritis
  • Optic neuritis
  • Idiopathic intracranial hypertension
  • Benign essential blepharospasm (BEB) and hemifacial spasm (HFS)

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Bhatti is active in research and education. He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and authored or co-authored 2 textbooks and over 10 book chapters. He is an active member of the American Board of Ophthalmology serving as an oral examiner and co-chair for the examination development committee. He is also the chair of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC) section 5 (neuro-ophthalmology) book. He has received multiple clinical, educational and academic awards including best teacher of the year and the AAO secretariat award.
