Training and Requirements

Anyone who is 18 years old or older can apply to be a volunteer at Mayo Clinic's Scottsdale or Phoenix, Ariz., campuses. A special program for student volunteers between the ages of 15 and 18 also is available.

To prepare you to serve as a Mayo Clinic volunteer, you'll receive:

• A general orientation
• A hospital tour
• One-on-one special skills training in your volunteer area

Requirements

Mayo Clinic volunteers must:

• Age 18 and older
• Commit to serve a minimum of four hours of a week
• Commit to a minimum of six months service a year
• Be dependable
• Be a team player
• Be flexible
