Become a Volunteer

To apply to the volunteer program at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, please follow the application process below.

For high school students between the ages of 15 and 18, Mayo Clinic in Arizona also offers the Young Volunteer Summer Program.

Application process

  • Complete these forms and return them by mail, fax or email. Forms are also available at the Volunteer Services offices on the Phoenix and Scottsdale campuses of Mayo Clinic. After submitting these forms, Mayo Clinic Volunteer Services will contact you to schedule an interview.
  • Attend a four-hour general orientation and a hospital tour held on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
  • Pass the background check.
  • Complete a two-step tuberculosis (TB) skin test (no charge). A positive result may require a chest X-ray, which will be billed to your health insurance plan.
  • Purchase a volunteer uniform ($22) in the Mayo Clinic Gift Shop.
  • Complete the volunteer training program.

Once you've completed the application process, you'll be assigned to one four-hour shift a week, on the same day and at the same time each week.
