Innovation in Health care Support - Domitilla 2D

Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers assist patients, visitors and staff with various responsibilities on this new, 39 bed Neurology medical patient care unit. In addition, volunteers have opportunities to observe team members within the unit health care team.

Many opportunities are available and some duties include:

  • Accompanying stable patients and family members off the unit to the coffee shop, courtyard and chapel
  • Delivering mail to patients and assisting with reading mail as needed
  • Assisting the unit secretary with filing and delivering supplies
  • Playing games or visiting with patients and family members
  • Providing education on Video on Demand and CarePages for patients and family members

Shift times are available on weekdays and weekends: 8 - 10 a.m., 1 - 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
