Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center

Volunteer working with a patient in the Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center.

The Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center helps Mayo Clinic patients who are experiencing cosmetic side effects of medical treatment. Volunteers assist the Center by making appointments, showing educational videos, wig-care products, hats, scarves, turbans and jewelry. Some volunteers assist with fitting patients with wigs. The Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center has one full-time and one part-time cosmetologist. Mayo patients are eligible for complimentary synthetic wigs or hats. Volunteer hours are flexible at the discretion of the Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center Coordinator.

Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers assist with some areas of customer service, pricing of merchandise, answering the telephone, entering computer data, and maintaining display areas. Shift times are 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
