Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center

The Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center

The Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center helps Mayo Clinic patients experiencing cosmetic side effects of medical treatment. Volunteers assist in the center by making appointments and showing educational videos, wig-care products, hats, scarves, turbans and jewelry. Some volunteers help fit patients with wigs.

The Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center has one full-time and two part-time cosmetologists. Patients are eligible for complimentary synthetic wigs or hats. The center also provides information for transplant patients managing skin issues caused by medications. Volunteer hours are flexible at the discretion of the Erickson Hair & Skin Care Center supervisor.

Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers help in pricing merchandise, answering the telephone, entering computer data and maintaining display areas. Shift times for Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers are 3:30 to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
