So just what do I do in the Emergency Department? Name it! Mostly I care about people in their time of need and do whatever I can do to make their experience in the ED as pleasant as possible. I try to make them feel that I truly do care. What I do depends upon the needs of the patients and their families, and that changes every week. A man had checked his wife into the ED. The nurse told him "...after about 15-20 minutes check with Don and he'll take you back to your wife." The man said "Oh yes, I remember Don, he's taken good care of me before and I'm sure he will again."
