Vaginal Cancer

Treatment in Florida

Mayo Clinic in Florida provides comprehensive vaginal cancer management, including diagnostic expertise, pelvic surgery, radiation therapy or chemotherapy. The patient's care team includes a gynecologic oncologist and physicians specializing in chemotherapy, radiation therapy and pathology, as well as nurses and research coordinators. The team jointly manages the patient's care. Every Wednesday morning, physicians and their staffs meet to discuss patients' treatment, clinical trials, new developments and research aspects of gynecologic oncology. The gynecologic oncologist and radiation oncologist together see each patient to do a physical exam and discuss treatment options.

Patients who require hospitalization are admitted to the Mayo Clinic hospital on the Jacksonville campus. Brachytherapy and other advanced radiation treatments are available in Florida.
