Mayo Clinic in Minnesota offers all treatment options described in these pages. With 10 gynecologic oncologists on staff, Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is one of the largest gynecologic cancer practices in the United States. Mayo Clinic's physicians lead new techniques and treatments, nationally and internationally.
Women with uterine sarcoma who come to Mayo Clinic are treated by a multidisciplinary group of specialists in the Medical Oncology Sarcoma Clinic. The specialists' expertise comes from the volume of sarcomas treated. Because sarcomas differ from other types of cancer in their pathology and structure, the treating physician must have a complete and thorough understanding of their development. Other Mayo Clinic surgical and medical department specialists are consulted as needed, allowing for shared information that results in the best possible outcome.
Mayo Clinic emphasizes a collaborative approach to care. Many health care professionals work together to determine the best way to treat each patient. Physicians from Gynecologic Surgery work with specialists from Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and other specialties as needed to treat patients with uterine cancer.
