Resources For Physicians

The Urology Department at Mayo Clinic Rochester welcomes referrals and inquiries from medical professionals both within and outside of the Mayo system.

Outpatient referrals

As a referring physician, you can make an appointment for a patient with urologic problems by calling

  • Mayo Clinic's Referring Physician Service,
    800-533-1564 (toll-free).
    This service is reserved exclusively for the use of physicians and their staffs. It is the best way to make patient appointments and arrange telephone consultations with Mayo staff members.
  • You can also contact specific physicians directly. The staff listings include a phone number for each physician, along with education background and interests.

Inpatient Referral (Hospital Transfers)

The operator can contact the staff Urology Consultant on-call (or any other specialist you request).

Urgent/Emergency Transfers
800-237-6822 (toll-free)
24 hours per day, 7 days per week

Direct line to the Mayo Emergency Communications Center, which can connect you to a Mayo Emergency/Trauma Unit staff physician and can dispatch Gold Cross (ground ambulance), Mayo One (helicopter ambulance) or Mayo Air (fixed-wing air ambulance) as needed.
