Traveling by Air

Rochester International Airport

Rochester International Airport (RST) offers daily, regularly scheduled service from Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis/St. Paul provided by American Airlines and Delta Airlines. Jet aircraft provide most services, but check with your travel agent or airline when you make your flight arrangements to determine the type of service provided. The airport has all-weather gate-to-plane jetways to board aircraft, although you may be outside briefly as you travel from the jetway to the aircraft. Rochester International Airport also has a Mayo Clinic information booth available in the passenger terminal building if you have questions.

Transportation from Rochester International Airport

Taxi, limousine and shuttle service is available from Rochester International Airport. Many Rochester hotels provide courtesy vans for their guests. You also may rent a car at the airport. Visit the transportation desk in the main passenger terminal lobby for transportation services.

Private aircraft

Rochester International Airport accommodates many types of private aircrafts. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent is on duty to process international flights. For more information, contact Signature Flight Support at 507-282-1717.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), located 80 miles north of Rochester, offers regularly scheduled service provided by most domestic airlines and many international carriers. You may travel to Rochester by taking a connecting flight to Rochester International Airport or by ground transportation.

Transportation from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

Many people fly into the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and travel to Rochester (about 90 minutes) by scheduled bus, shuttle or limousine service. You may buy tickets at ticket counters located in the Ground Transportation Center in Terminal 1-Lindbergh, or you may make advance reservations. You also may rent a car at the airport.

Airfare discounts

At their discretion, airlines sometimes offer special discounts for people traveling to Mayo Clinic and their family members. Airlines don't guarantee that a discount will be available when you travel. Contact your travel agent or airline for details.
