On-the-Job Training in Mayo Procedures

Outpatient Operations Support Training provides on-the-job training in Mayo Clinic procedures through a combination of classroom and on-the-job training/mentorship. After completing the six-week training program, trainees typically cover short-term absences before their permanent assignment begins.

The focus of the program is:

• To teach the basic skills needed to perform the three Outpatient Operations positions
• To train employees to cover these positions during surgical, medical and parental leaves
• To train employees to be hired at one of the 70 desks or appointment offices at Mayo Clinic in Rochester
