Outpatient Operations Support Training Program

Application

Eligibility

Mayo Clinic seeks motivated high school graduates who are dedicated to patients and delivering world-class customer service. Qualified candidates are required to have:

  • A high school diploma or GED diploma (minimum requirement)
  • Two years of customer service experience (minimum requirement)
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Focus, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (strongly preferred)

Application

Applying for the Outpatient Operations Support Training Program is an online process. Applications and resumes are not accepted by mail or email. Please visit our Clerical and Support Services Web page for available Outpatient Operations Support positions. If no open positions are posted, you may click "Email jobs to me." You'll then be notified via email when future positions become available.

During the online application process, you'll be asked to submit a complete profile, cover letter and resume. Internal applicants should include their last three performance evaluations.

We routinely receive more applicants than spaces available in the program. To maximize your chance for admission, make certain your application materials are detailed, complete and meet all requirements for consideration. Post-offer, pre-employment drug screening is required.

Working at Mayo Clinic

Most trainees are hired after completing the training. If you are not immediately placed in a permanent position, you'll likely be assigned to cover employees on short-term absences while continuing to look for a position. Please also note the following:

  • Applicants hired to a specific floor while attending the training program know where they'll work after completing the program. Applicants who haven't been hired when the program ends apply for openings that become available.
  • Only a few part-time positions are available, so if you are interested, inform management as soon as possible.
  • All training program participants work full time while attending the program. After program completion, those interested in part-time positions continue to work full time until they are hired part time. We cannot estimate how long this may take.
