Thyroid Cancer

Treatment in Minnesota

All the treatment and diagnostic options for thyroid cancer described in these pages are available in Minnesota. Currently physicians are pioneering alcohol ablation as a new treatment for small recurring thyroid cancers.

A special Thyroid Group within the Division of Endocrinology in Minnesota facilitates treatment and research activities for thyroid problems. Pathologists in Minnesota provide rapid turnaround of laboratory results from thyroid biopsies, often in less than 24 hours. Ultrasound specialists provide excellent diagnostic and follow-up screening for thyroid cancer patients.

Thyroid tumors are treated by specialists in Oncology, Endocrinology, General Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology.
