Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm

Overview

An aortic aneurysm is a dilation or enlargement of the aorta, the major blood vessel carrying blood from your heart to your other organs. A thoracic aortic aneurysm occurs in the aorta along the section that passes through your chest. Rarely, you may have a thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm, which occurs in the section of the aorta that passes through your chest and abdomen.
