Treatment experience

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota was among the first medical centers to use cochlear implants to treat children with a rare type of hearing loss called auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD). Mayo Clinic's cochlear implant team has had success treating many children with ANSD for whom hearing aids didn't help.

In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.
