Stroke

Stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. Stroke is a medical emergency.

Transient ischemic attack (TIA)

Sudden weakness, dizziness and loss of balance might be indications of a transient ischemic attack. And the attack may warn of an impending stroke.

Vascular dementia

Vascular dementia is caused by problems with the blood vessels in your brain. Many people with vascular dementia also have Alzheimer's disease.
