Your care team may include physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, rehabilitation nurses and other experts as needed.

A plan can be created to address a number of issues, such as memory and thinking changes, loss of flexibility and movement, swelling caused by abnormalities in your lymphatic system (lymphedema), muscle weakening, numbness, pain and distress, among many others.

At Mayo Clinic you have access to the latest treatments and a wide variety of therapies to help you recover. Your cancer rehabilitation program could include retraining of muscle groups, exercise, bracing and other therapies to help you improve your overall function and resume regular activities. In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.
