Procedure Summary (Adult)

During occipital nerve stimulation, stimulating electrodes and a battery are implanted through small incisions as an outpatient procedure. To establish efficacy for occipital nerve stimulation, a trial may be done with temporary external leads. A programmable wireless remote control device is used as needed to manage pain.
