Mayo Support Groups in Minnesota

Cancer support groups

Below are support groups facilitated by Mayo Clinic social workers and open to the public.

ALS Community Support Group

Beginnning in October 2011. Meets the second Thursday of the month from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Room 240 of the Northeast Clinic. Contact Margo Vandrovec at 507-255-3836 before attending.

Grief support groups for adults

Mayo Clinic Hospice offers adult grief support groups two to three times a year. The groups are free and open to any adult who has experienced the death of a significant person in his or her life. Contact Mayo Clinic Hospice at 507-284-4002 or 800-679-9084.

LVAD Support Group

Support group for people who have a left ventricular assist device and their family members. Meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in Room 4-510 at Saint Marys Hospital. Contact Lorena Nimke or Tami Halverson at 507-284-2131.

Sib Shop

For siblings of children with chronic medical conditions. Meets two to four times a year. Contact Holli Johnson at 507-284-6819.

Traumatic Brain Injury Group

For patients and families who have been seen or are being seen in the Mayo Clinic outpatient brain rehabilitation program. Meets the second Wednesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. Contact Anita Milburn at 507-284-7241.
