Support groups for many conditions are available at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Bariatric Surgery Support Group meetings are open forums for sharing information. Speakers are present at meetings throughout the year, such as the surgeon, endocrinologist, dietitian, physical therapist and exercise expert.
The group meets on the third Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Mayo Clinic Hospital (Room 1-212, near the hospital entrance).
Time: 9 a.m.-noon; 9-10:30 a.m. is for pre-surgical patients, and 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. is for post-surgical patients.
Dates: Jan. 15, Feb. 19, Mar. 19, Apr. 16, May 14, Jun. 18, Jul. 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 18, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, Dec. 17
Meetings are free and open to the public and attendees can come to all or part of the meetings. Family and friends are also welcome.

Support groups for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes meet on the first Saturday of every month in room 1-121 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. The type 1 group meets from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and the type 2 group from 10:30 to noon.
