What is my role as a Summer III Nursing Program participant at Mayo Clinic?
You have the opportunity to expand your nursing and critical thinking skills while working alongside an R.N. clinical coach. However, due to Minnesota Nurse Practice Act regulations, you will not be permitted to administer medications or IV therapy during your time in the program.
What will I be expected to wear for the program?
Uniforms at Mayo Clinic serve as a means of identification. To create a professional impression of both you and Mayo Clinic, uniforms should be clean, neat, modest and well-fitting.
All-white tennis shoes without colored trim are acceptable. Sandals are not permitted. White socks or hose are required.
If you are assigned to a patient care unit in which there is an alternate dress code, you will receive details along with your placement information by late March.
When will I learn if I've been accepted into the program?
You will receive a letter in late February.
Where and what shift will I be working?
If you are selected to participate in the program, specific information regarding your placement will be sent to you in late March.
