Summer III Nursing

Program Details

Program details

The Summer III program provides you the opportunity to work alongside an RN clinical coach to experience nursing care in the following areas:

  • inpatient units
  • operating rooms

These patient care areas are all located on the Mayo Clinic campus in downtown Rochester.

Orientation

The Summer III program begins with a two-week paid orientation. The orientation is designed to acclimate you to the Rochester community, Mayo Clinic, and your specific work unit. There will be a combination of classroom work and hands-on training in your designated unit.

Uniforms

Uniforms and their care are your responsibility. Color of uniform will be assigned and communicated prior to beginning of program. White shoes are necessary. Running shoes which are white or mostly white are acceptable; colored running shoes are not.

Other Activities

The Summer III program not only offers an educational work experience, it also provides an opportunity to live, socialize and have fun with other nursing students from around the country.

The Rochester area has a lot to offer! See Rochester Info for more activities in our area.

Housing

You may make your own housing arrangements, or choose to live in housing that is partially subsidized by Mayo Clinic. If you choose the Mayo option, housing costs are automatically deducted from your paycheck. You will be assigned roommates who are also enrolled in the program.
