Sleep Disorders Unit in Florida

Overview

Specialist in the Sleep Disorders Unit at Mayo Clinic in Florida diagnose and treat sleep disorders in adults. The sleep center is an outpatient facility and is fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Specialists in Psychiatry and Psychology and Pulmonary Medicine work closely to treat sleep disorders in adults. Patients also have access to Mayo specialists in Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, Cardiovascular Diseases and Nephrology and Hypertension for related problems.

The sleep center has five beds for polysomnograms (overnight sleep studies), which it schedules Sunday through Friday. The Sleep Disorders Unit also conducts multiple sleep latency tests, actigraphy (tracking sleep-wake cycles) and overnight oximetry (measuring blood-oxygen levels).
