Short Bowel Syndrome

Symptoms

Symptoms of short bowel syndrome may include a combination of the following:

  • Dehydration
  • Pale, greasy, watery diarrhea
  • Particularly bad-smelling stools
  • Weight loss
  • Malnutrition
  • Exhaustion

Laboratory and imaging tests may also reveal electrolyte imbalances, vitamin deficiencies, kidney stones and gallstones.
