Mayo Clinic works with hundreds of insurance companies and is an in-network provider for millions of people. In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.

Minnesota

At Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, specialists in pediatric orthopedic surgery, pediatric rehabilitation (outpatient and inpatient) and pediatric radiology. Physical and occupational therapists may also be involved, as may social workers and child psychologists.

Children

Children with scoliosis attend the T. Denny Sanford Pediatric Center. Treatment for scoliosis varies, depending on the severity of the spinal curve and the age of the childs.

Scoliosis surgery and recovery take place at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital, a family-friendly children's hospital within Saint Marys Hospital. An inpatient pediatric pain management service provides consultation as needed. Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital also has a dedicated pediatric intensive care unit for children needing careful monitoring after surgery.
