Construction is underway at Saint Marys to expand and update facilities and provide a safer, more efficient environment. Construction is taking place in and around the Mary Brigh Building in three areas:

Expected completion: Spring 2015
The ED renovation and 22,000-square-foot expansion will improve patient privacy, reduce wait times and offer innovative technology to improve service for patients.
Exterior work began in April 2013 near the current ED entrance. All emergency-based services will continue to be provided during construction.
Expected completion: Spring 2014
The new 60-bed PACU will give providers more room to safely circulate and use monitoring, imaging and resuscitation equipment, as needed. Families of patients will have a larger waiting area.
Expected completion: December 2013
The main corridor of the Mary Brigh Building (near the main admissions desk) is being expanded to improve pedestrian movement through this high-traffic area. A new two-story stained glass wall in the expanded lobby is a focal point.
The project also includes new or improved space for the outpatient pharmacy, lab and admissions desk.

Tours of a prototype of the new ED generated many helpful ideas. Read more.
