Rumination Syndrome

Risks

Rumination syndrome is more common in infants than other age groups and is also more common in mentally handicapped individuals, where congenital anatomic defects, medical disorders, and reactions to medication can be underlying causes. Patients with a prior history of bulimia nervosa also may have a higher rate of rumination.
