Rotator Cuff Injury

Research

Specialists in Orthopedic Surgery conduct clinical research into methods to maximize positive outcomes for rotator cuff surgery.

The effect of shoulder protraction on isometric and isokinetic shoulder rotation strength is one recent research project undertaken by Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians at the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center in Rochester. The project investigates aspects of sports injury evaluation, treatment and prevention to provide optimal treatment to those involved in sports- or fitness-related activities.

The Mayo Clinic Biomechanics Laboratory studies repair methods for massive rotator cuff tears.
