Neuroradiology

The section of Neuroradiology offers MRI and CT imaging performed on state-of-the-art MRI and CT scanners at Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Hospital. CT and MRI imaging of the head and neck, brain, spine and spinal cord are performed. This includes MRA and CTA of the head and neck and spine. We work closely with referring clinicians and encourage personal consultation with them regarding appropriate exams, MR safety and imaging results. Advanced techniques using CT perfusi on and MR perfusion and diffusion imaging are also offered.

The neuroradiology section also provides neurointerventional procedures of the head and spine. Interventional procedures include, carotid stents, intracranial and extra cranial embolization, intracranial thrombolysis, and endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms and vascular malformations. Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures are also provided.

Procedural: Cerebral and spinal angiography and myelography are performed with referral from neurosurgery, neurology, or vascular surgery. CT guided biopsy of head and neck masses are also done.
