Radiology in Minnesota

Research

Research is an integral part of Mayo Clinic. Investigators within the Department of Radiology conduct basic science and clinical research, working closely with clinical departments throughout Mayo Clinic. The CT Clinical Innovation Center research team works with Mayo Clinic doctors to develop, optimize and translate innovative CT technologies into the practice and patient care.

The Magnetic Resonance Laboratory Radiology research group brings together a broad range of research interests focused on the special imaging characteristics of MRI scanners. Many of the group's projects are done in collaboration with the body MRI and neurological MRI teams. Their interests include:

  • High-detail imaging of the brain for Alzheimer's disease
  • Noninvasive mapping of the vascular system
  • Real-time imaging of the heart
  • Touch-simulating imaging

For more information, see the Department of Radiology's research website.
