Radiology in Minnesota

Hospital Radiology

Hospital radiology encompasses a wide range of examinations and modalities to serve the Saint Marys Hospital Emergency Department and inpatients. All examinations are interpreted immediately after they are performed.

Computed Tomography (CT)
Two high speed, multi-detector scanners serve the Emergency Department 24 hours a day and hospital inpatients during "on call" hours. Whole body imaging and emergent CT interventional procedures are provided.

Fluoroscopic Examinations
Barium or gastrografin studies of the upper gastrointestinal tract, small bowel and colon are commonly performed. Feeding tube manipulation under fluoroscopic control is available. Video swallow examinations are performed in conjunction with occupational therapy.

Conventional Radiography
Large numbers of skeletal, chest and abdominal x-rays are performed. Excretory urograms are also performed for evaluation of the kidneys, ureters and bladder.
