Radiation Oncology in Florida

Research

Clinical research studies designed by Mayo Clinic researchers are available to eligible cancer patients. Clinical studies, also called protocols, give patients the opportunity to participate in the newest and most innovative investigative programs that offer the greatest hope for the most difficult cancer problems.

Patients treated at Mayo Clinic have access to more than 250 clinical research studies for virtually any type of cancer. Physicians discuss with patients any clinical studies that are available to treat their cancers.

In the Mayo system, one institutional review board approves research protocols for all Mayo group practices, including Jacksonville; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Rochester, Minn. We are a partner in the North Central Cancer Treatment Group and a member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, the Gynecology Oncology Group and a Phase 2 consortium, among others.

For more information about clinical trials and research studies that are available, visit Mayo Clinic's clinical trials Web pages.
