The Joint Commission

To ensure the highest quality health care for our patients, Mayo Clinic regularly participates in a national accreditation process sponsored by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses, and consumers and sets the standards for measuring health care quality in the United States.

If you have questions or concerns about care you have received at Mayo Clinic that have not been resolved by Mayo, you are encouraged to contact The Joint Commission. Their Web site will provide you with the information you need.

You may also contact a state licensing agency or the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services if you have questions or concerns about care you have received at Mayo Clinic that have not been resolved by Mayo. Please refer to your patient handbook for more information.
