Overview
Pyoderma gangrenosum is an uncommon skin condition that causes painful deep sores (ulcers). The ulcers begin as a small sore, often at the site of a minor injury, and then expand rapidly. The disease often occurs on the legs, but it can occur elsewhere, including internal organs. Pyoderma gangrenosum often occurs in people who have other diseases, especially autoimmune diseases. If not treated properly, the disease can have serious consequences.
